If you’re looking for plant based taco recipes, check out my Sweet Potato Tacos and Jackfruit Tacos!

A simple dinner ready in less than 20 minutes? YES, PLEASE.

Friends, these turkey tacos have been our favorite recently.

Back in early July before Finn arrived, I had bought a pineapple to devour, hoping it would help me go into labor. My plan was to simply eat it on its own, but then Drew suggested throwing into our turkey taco meat.

At first I said, “No that’s weird…” thinking he was just making up some crazy concoction… but pregnancy brain is a real thing and I realized adding pineapple to tacos, is in fact, a real (normal) thing.

And seriously delicious!

So, it’s time to take your turkey taco recipe up a notch and throw in some pineapple!

Why You’ll Love Them

  • An easy and flavorful dinner recipe.
  • A delicious take on turkey tacos to change up your normal Taco Tuesday night.
  • Great for when you need a quick dinner in under 30 minutes.
  • A dietary friendly recipe using your favorite taco shells
pineapple turkey tacos served with avocado slices, bowl of pineapple, limes and fresh cilantro

What You Need

  • oil for cooking – use olive oil or avocado oil for high heat cooking
  • onion and minced garlic – to enhance flavor
  • ground turkey – use 97% lean or extra lean
  • homemade taco seasoning – I love using a homemade blend for less sodium and there are no filler ingredients
  • diced pineapple – use fresh or canned
  • your favorite salsa – I would go for a jarred salsa here because we’re cooking it in with the meat
  • taco shells – corn tortillas, flour tortilla, grain free tortillas, etc.

Dinner Ready in 15 Minutes

This recipe is so easy to make and a delicious way to enjoy Taco Tuesday.

Step 1 – Sauté Onion and Garlic

Add your oil to a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; cook for about 3-4 minutes until fragrant and onions are translucent.

Step 2 – Add Turkey Meat

Add the ground turkey and taco seasoning, cooking until almost brown. Next add in the diced pineapple and salsa, simmering until meat is cooked through, about 5 minutes or so.

Step 3 – Make your Tacos!

Assemble your turkey pineapple tacos with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Turkey Taco Toppings

  • sliced red cabbage
  • diced red bell pepper
  • diced red onion
  • shredded lettuce
  • pico de gallo
  • sour cream
  • avocado slices
  • cilantro
  • lime juice

Of course you can pick and choose what you like here. You can also make a burrito bowl or taco salad!

This recipe would also be delicious to serve with my Pineapple Salsa too.

If you like the idea of these turkey tacos but looking to change up the meat, try this recipe for shredded beef from my friend, Molly.

I hope you love these turkey tacos as much as we do!

I don’t have the specific macros for this recipe at this time, but you can try plugging in the recipe url into a calculator in the meantime. This one is dependent on all of the toppings, etc. Are you looking for just the meat filling?

Love this recipe! This will be a regular in our house. I serviced this in bowls to scoop into butter lettuce cups. I also added diced red and orange pepper in with the pineapples and salsa. Very easy to make!
