If you’re looking for a simple homemade ranch dressing recipe, look no further than this healthy Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing! It’s made with basic pantry seasonings, lemon, mustard, Greek yogurt and milk – that’s it!

What is Ranch Dressing?

Ranch dressing is an American salad dressing traditionally made with buttermilk, garlic, onion, dill, and other spices along with mayonnaise, blended into a creamy sauce. We’re simplifying things to create a healthy version using pantry and fridge staples.

Trust me, this healthy ranch dressing is so much better than store bought bottled dressing!

Pantry & Fridge Staples

We’re using a mix of dried herbs and seasonings, salt, stoneground mustard, Greek yogurt, lemon and milk.

You can also use Skyr if you prefer, though you may need more milk to thin the dressing if the Skyr is very thick.

How to Make Homemade Ranch Dressing

For this recipe, since we’re using dried seasonings (versus fresh herbs) all you have to do is whisk everything in a bowl, combine in a salad shaker cup or use an immersion blender.

Add the Greek yogurt, mustard, herbs and seasonings, salt and a few tablespoons of milk to your container; mix until smooth then taste test for salt. Decide if you would like a thinner consistency and add a couple more tablespoons of milk, if you’d like.

How to Make Vegan Ranch

You can make this ranch dressing recipe vegan friendly by using a plant based yogurt alternative, such as plain unsweetened coconut milk or soy yogurt.

Then use the plant-based milk of your choice to thin the dressing as needed.

Vegan Greek yogurt is often thinner than traditional Greek yogurt, so you may not need any milk to thin.

To Make a Dip

You can make this more of a yogurt ranch dip recipe by omitting the milk. Easy peasy.

This dressing was delicious! So easy to make and both healthier and tastier than store-bought. I used homemade soy yogurt (with some of the whey strained out to better approximate Greek yogurt).
