Welcome to Fit Mitten Kitchen!
Hi! Iโm Ashley Walterhouse, founder and creator of Fit Mitten Kitchen, a website devoted to real food recipes and balanced treats for all to enjoy. I started my website in 2015 as a way to share all of the recipes I was loving as I discovered how to eat and live a healthier lifestyle. Since then, I have shared almost 1000 recipes on Fit Mitten Kitchen!

Dessert is for every day in my book! (Maybe even twice a day.) You’ll find loads of nutrient-dense options here that won’t leave you feeling blah. - Plant-forward meals
While I do eat fish and meat on a semi-regular basis, I also LOVE using plant-based meals as a way to add more veggies to your diet. You can get so creative with adding more plants into your main dishes. - Dietary friendly snacks
I share a wide variety of muffins, quick breads, energy bites and snack bars, all of which you’ll be able to find gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options.

Fun Facts
- My first job post-college was designing gymnastics leotards. I lived in Pennsylvania for 4 years during that time! I still miss the rolling hills.
- I was born and raised in Mid-Michigan.
- I studied abroad in Australia in 2010.
- I’m obsessed with the combination of peanut butter and banana.
