When life starts to get crazy and you’re feeling stressed, it’s most certainly time for a girls night in. Plan a get together with your gals, grab your favorite treats and forget about the overwhelm. Nothing laughter and ice cream can’t cure.
You know that feeling that comes over you when life gets a little crazy? Maybe you’re a little stressed at work or overwhelmed with home life and find yourself irritable, more often than you’d like to admit. It’s not a fun place to be in and it’s easy to just keep chugging along without really thinking about how important it is to de-stress and get back to your happy place. I think we–especially women–get so accustomed to just powering through each day, it’s really difficult to slow down and set time aside for ourselves.
But (wo)man is it important.
When I start to feel a little stressed out from work and life in general, it is most certainly
Time for a Girls Night In
It’s easy to say you don’t have time but that is in fact when you need the break the most!
In this day and age of social media, it’s easy to stay in your own little space and keep to yourself. I am guilty of this as well. I mean, I work from home and chat with you all on the internet basically every day. But make no mistake, the time on the internet does not make up for REAL LIFE conversations with your favorite people.
Having a girls night in is my favorite way to de-stress, forget about work-life duties and just have real good conversations in a judgement-free zone. Ya know what I’m saying?
And you obviously can’t have a girls night in without your favorite treats…
I’m really excited to be partnering with Julie’s Organic on this post because they are ALL about making time for yourself and prioritizing YOU – which is exactly what a girls night in is all about. No distractions from kids, spouses, work, etc. Just finding time for good conversation with your gal pals, enjoying each other’s company and snacking on your favorite eats. Popcorn, cookies, wine, ice cream and whatever else your little hearts desire.
Making sure to put the phones away and just talk, laugh and savor every bite of the good stuff.
Having get togethers is something I am sure so many of us need more of in our lives. For me, it keeps me grounded and full of gratitude. Sometimes those girls nights bring me back to those high school days where life was quite simple; when all you were worried about were crushes, what to wear and homework (okay maybe just the Type A’s out there). Of course you didn’t know it at the time because you were a teenager and everything was life or death.
After a girls night in these days, I find myself reflecting on just how much has changed but with a true appreciation for life. There is always something to be grateful for and there’s nothing better than getting together with friends for the evening, eating your favorite ice cream and just chatting the night away to help you realize what’s truly important.
Relationships are so much better when you can laugh in person together.
And obviously eat ice cream out of the pint.
As they say…
There’s nothing ice cream can’t fix.
Have you had a girls night in recently?
What’s your favorite ice cream treat?!
