This Avocado Feta Dip is SO good and yes – seriously addicting, but in the best possible way. Loaded with feta, avocado, red onion, tomatoes and parsley. Less than 10 ingredients and quick to make.

Post originally published May 2017. Updated with new photos December 2020 – Same delicious recipe!

If you’re a long-time reader of FMK, you know I have a love for avocados and feta. I typically love the combo for eggs but honestly I can get down with it in any form.

If you’re looking for an amazing dip for any occasion, this one is seriously amazing.

This avocado feta dip is one of my obsessions. It’s kind of like guacamole, but dare I say better?

*gasp*

Okay, I won’t go there… But it is incredible in its own way.

Why You Must Make This

  • It’s ready in just a few minutes
  • Less than 10 ingredients
  • You can sub the feta for a vegan friendly feta cheese
  • Pairs well with chips, crackers, as a side or salad topper
  • Everyone goes crazy for this

Ingredients

  • avocado
  • feta
  • tomatoes
  • red onion
  • garlic
  • parsley
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • vinegar

How to Make this Simple Dip

This feta dip is loaded with flavor and texture and SO freaking good. And for those of you that are like “Ew, feta…” (don’t worry, I know there are some of you out there) you can simply just leave it out, which also makes this dip vegan-friendly.

TIP: Make sure your avocados aren’t too soft so they hold their texture better.

  1. Cut 4oz block of feta into cubes.
  2. In a medium bowl combine diced avocado, feta, diced tomatoes, diced red onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley or cilantro, extra virgin olive oil and vinegar. Sprinkle with salt.
  3. Gently fold together ingredients with large spoon until combined. Be careful not to mash avocado.
  4. Transfer avocado feta dip to serving bowl with dipping vehicle of your choice!

More Ways to Enjoy

  • As a side
  • On top of salad
  • Stuffed in sweet potatoes
  • With pita chips or flatbread

However you want to enjoy this dip, you can’t go wrong. It’s always a hit with friends and family!

Easy Avocado Feta Dip. Less than 10 ingredients, and quick to make. Loaded with avocado, tomatoes, red onion, feta and parsley (or use cilantro!). This dip is a must for any occasion and is always a hit with friends and family.

  • Author: Ashley
  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Cook Time: 0 minutes
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: about 4 cups 1x
  • Category: snacks
  • Method: dip
  • Cuisine: American
  • Diet: Gluten Free

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe medium avocados, fleshed and diced
  • 4 ounces feta (block will yield best taste and texture)
  • 3 medium Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
  • 1/3 cup diced red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley (or cilantro)
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Check avocados: Make sure your avocados aren’t too soft so they hold their texture better.
  2. Cut 4oz block of feta into cubes.
  3. Add all ingredients: In a medium bowl add diced avocado, feta, diced tomatoes, diced red onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley or cilantro, extra virgin olive oil and vinegar. Sprinkle with salt.
  4. Gently fold together ingredients with large spoon until combined. Be careful not to mash avocado.
  5. Serve: Transfer dip to serving bowl, serve with crackers, chips, flatbread or on its own.

Notes

Store leftovers in covered container – cover with plastic wrap and gently press into dip before placing lid on. Leftovers should keep okay (without avocado browning too much) for about 3 days.

I love the idea of adding feta with some avocados! I would definitely be eating this entire bowl in one sitting and not sharing.

I could imagine that this is almost better than guacamole with all the flavors. It’s so colorful. Our family loves avocado based dips.

This looks awesome, but I think I missed something. In the What You Need section, it lists cooked quinoa.
Is that part of the recipe?

Hi Mary! Thanks so much for your comment. The “cooked quinoa” was a typo! I was working on another recipe at the same time for later this week, which happens to have quinoa in it 😉 Thanks for letting me know! The recipe as written at the bottom of the post is correct 🙂 Let me know if you make it!

Sounds Yummy! I would love to top chicken or skirt steak with this! Have you used it that way? How long does it keep?

How much and what type of vinegar? It’s in the list of ingredients but I didn’t actually see it in the recipe. Thanks.

Hi there! So sorry about that – it is just 1 tablespoon of vinegar. I used apple cider vinegar because that is what I always have on hand, but you can use a white if you prefer 🙂 I updated the recipe – thank you for your comment!

This was a small distraction in the first quarter of the Superbowl. After that, it was long gone. I still don’t see adding the vinegar in the instructions, but I gathered from previous comments that I could do so! Delish!

I learned this recipe from my bosses wife about 10 years ago. I was googling to make sure I didn’t miss any ingredients when I stumbled across your recipe. Its the exact same (I use red wine vinegar and serve with tortilla chips) as the recipe I was given all those years ago 🙂 and I agree, its completly addicting!
