This festive Halloween Snack Board is a great way to get in the spooky spirit. Some healthy halloween snack ideas for kids including berry forward recipes, plus some fun treats the adults will love, too.

Halloween is a great way to bring out the kid in all of us. I’ll be honest, Halloween was not always my favorite when I was younger. But now that we have kids, I love seeing the joy it brings them to dress up with other kids.
Another way to get in the Halloween spirit? With FOOD, of course. Adding a spooky spin to our favorite treats is so much fun, and the kids think it’s pretty great. Candy eyes for the win!
Building a Halloween snack board could not be easier. You can customize it in a variety of ways, but I wanted to focus on kid friendly halloween treats using fruit and berries.
Here’s what we’re using:
- Raspberry Mummy Hand Pies — you can check out the recipe I made over on California Giant’s website!
- Chocolate Covered Blueberries – Visit my Instagram for the video tutorial, and use the original recipe for amounts and instructions.
- Strawberry Ghosts – These are a must! So easy to make. Be sure to visit that link and read through my tips for melting white chocolate!
- Clementines – The easiest way to portray pumpkins on a snack board! And another healthy addition to this board.
- Spiderweb waffles – Use your favorite pancake mix or my homemade whole wheat waffles and this spider waffle maker!
- Blackberry Spiders – all you have to do is pipe some melted chocolate onto parchment paper and stick a toothpick with two blackberries in the center.
- Blackberry Grape Skewers – I liked the color combination the purple grapes, green grapes, and blackberries.
Other items to consider: cheese stick broomsticks, ants on a log (peanut butter with celery sticks and raisins), kiwi Frankenstein monsters, any type of hand pie using Halloween large cookie cutters (i.e. ghosts, pumpkins, etc.), mini bell peppers with triangle eyes cut out.

TIP #1 – Grab a large enough board. I used a 9×12 board, but a large baking sheet works great too, especially if you’re serving a crowd. You can also use a large oval serving platter.
TIP #2 – You can make the chocolate dipped berry items up to one day ahead. If you do the chocolate covered berries any further in advance, you’ll end up with soggy berries and the candy eyes will start to sweat when stored in the fridge. You can also prepare the skewers in advance.
TIP #3 – Ideally, make the waffles fresh (or reheat in the toaster), as well as the raspberry mummy pastries.
TIP #4 – When building the board, start with the large items and fill in with smaller items. You can also use the first image in the post as a guide.
TIP #5 – Arrange the snack board with color in mind. Space out the colors and balance the colors of the food around the board.
TIP #6 – Feel free to fill in any gaps with loose berries, cubed cheese, candy corn, etc.

- Raspberry Mummy Hand Pies
- Chocolate Covered Blueberries, visit my Instagram for video tutorial!
- Strawberry Ghosts
- Clementines , 4-6
- Spiderweb waffles, 4-6
- 12 ounces Blackberries
- 3.5 ounces dark chocolate chips, or melting wafers
- Red and Purple Grapes, enough to make as many skewers as you want.
Instructions
Make Blackberry Spiders
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Add two blackberries per toothpick. Melt chocolate using double boiler method so it's smooth and doesn't seize in microwave. Place a piping bag over a cup and spoon melted chocolate into bag, pushing chocolate all the way to bottom. Cut a small hole at bottom of bag. Pipe chocolate in one line and then create 4 legs on each side of line. Immediately place blackberry toothpick onto melted chocolate – let set.
Prepare board
- To build the board, make the recipes listed above, prepare the skewers and clementines. Start by adding on the Raspberry Mummy hand pies, spider web waffles, and layer in the chocolate covered berries, grape-blackberry skewers, clementines and blackberry spiders. Use the images above as your guide. Have fun and enjoy!
