Well hi there! Long time no chat 🙂

A week long vacation with little to no cell service can be a bit of an adjustment these days. When we finally got to the UP, and our service drastically changed to no service at all, my 19 year old sister and I were slightly irritated. It’s a little ridiculous how attached we can get to that small little device, isn’t it? And not only attached to the device, but attached to all that comes with it. Having everything at your fingertips, from social media to email to a detailed weather forecast, we are truly spoiled.

Vacation is also a great time to start a book. You Are a Badass*  (thank you Nicole for recommending) is truly just what I needed at this time in my life. I still have my moments where I feel like I haven’t quite adjusted to our move yet. And for someone who deals with having a Type A personality, always wants things to be perfect, and struggles with anxiety from time to time, I can already tell this book going to be so helpful.

Something that has stuck out to me so far is when the author says “This isn’t just about believing and being all high-vibe when the sun is out and the bunnies are hopping around, either. This is about believing, even when things are at their most uncertain or absolute crappiest, that there is a bright shiny field within your reach.”

I always do my best to practice this… Having faith and staying positive. However when anxiety finds it’s way into your thoughts, those two things can be hard to remember. Being aware of your thought patterns and knowing you can change them for the better is going to allow you to get back on the “glass half full” mentality.

Purple Power Superfood Smoothie

I’m sure I’ll have more to discuss from the book once I get further in, but for now let’s chat about this superfood smoothie, shall we?

what you need

cherries

strawberries

blueberries

acai powder

liquid of choice

Berries are truly a powerful source of antioxidants with an array of health benefits, contributing to your overall wellness.

Kick your health up a notch with this Purple Power Superfood Smoothie. Using berries rich in antioxidants, plus acai powder for a superfood boost. Add your favorite protein powder for a filling on-the-go meal.

Purple power! 🙂 The combination of forrest fruit looks delicious and is very healthy for sure. I have some berries frozen in my fridge so I can give this a try (I usually make only green smoothies).

I need a badass book and this purple smoothie of love. I’ve been feeling anxious/nervous/scared about having another baby SOON and I’ve been over-indulging on some not-so-healthy summer treats (eh hem, ice cream) sooooo you pretty much rock my world once again….

I love berry smoothies… they are the best! And I totally need to get some of that acai powder. It’s the one thing I don’t have in my superfood smoothie arsenal! 🙂

Love love love berry based smoothies!

I must admit, I don’t think I’ve ever taken a vacation without a phone…I don’t feel like I rely on it too much but would still probably feel lost without it. Sounds like I might have to take a weekend away just to see what happens. 🙂

I know what you mean! Summertime is when I typically read novels, because we’re on the beach or camping. But I need to get better about reading more. It’s a nice break from technology!

:))) Simplicity is so amazing, and remember to have joy and thank God for everything every day is what keeps me centered, especially when I get stressed. 🙂 This smoothie looks absolutely lovely. I love the color that berries give to smoothies.

Man oh man I have tied to technology ridiculously closely. Too closely. I feel like as soon as I wake up I’m on my phone checking social media and my email! It gets exhausting. I just got back from a trip to Norway where I didn’t have internet/cell service 95% of the time and it was so refreshing :).

Almost as refreshing as this smoothie! Perfect for the warm weather + fresh produce here in California! Yum!

Lying in bed while waking up and checking your phone is such a bad habit to get into. I started doing that and need to stop! It’s just not necessary you know? Your trip to Norway looked INCREDIBLE, btw.
