Introducing my new supplement routine in partnership with Care/Of – a high-quality personalized vitamin supplement company tailored to your specific needs.
Life can get a little crazy, amiright? I will admit this past year has been a pretty challenging one. Between getting settled back into our home state, renting a less-than-desirable apartment, working from said apartment, house hunting, buying a house, making the house a home, working on various work projects … the list goes on.
In the midst of the crazy, I started to wonder how all of the stress was having an affect on my health. It was not a matter of IF the stress was getting to me, but how much. I tried to take part in some self care, i.e. baths, face masks, savasana taking naps… but I couldn’t actually make a routine of anything. Usually I thrive on routine, but that was also when I was working in a corporate office and had a fairly set schedule. But with working from home and blogging full-time, every day is different. And I’m certainly not complaining, but still trying to navigate how to make my own routine from bits and pieces of my days. It’s been tough to figure out and make something stick!
Introducing Care/Of Vitamins
When Care/of reached out to me about their personalized vitamin packs I’ll admit I was intrigued, but also a little apprehensive. I’ve never been a big vitamin person. The only vitamins I ever took were your standard B12 complex, Vitamin D… oh, and how about the good ole multivitamin? I took a multivitamin in college but only because I thought I was being healthy. When I transitioned to a much more whole foods based diet, I figured I was getting most of my vitamins through food and didn’t need to consider supplements. Well, turns out there are a variety of vitamins and other supplements I didn’t truly consider incorporating into my routine until I started looking more into what Care/of had to offer.
Care/of isn’t your standard vitamin supplement company either. They’re like your own little wellness practice except you get to bypass the commute, the waiting room, and how about those awesome copays? Since I’ve stopped taking a multivitamin I have often wondered what other types of vitamins or supplements I should be adding into my routine. But to go see a doctor to get that information? I just didn’t feel like it was worth the extra time, tests or doctors’ bills. With Care/of they have you take a short quiz that will help you find the perfect vitamins and supplements, personalized for you and your daily life.
What’s in my pack?
I’ll give you a little insight as to what’s in my Care/of pack so you can see the types of supplements they offer. It’s really neat! A few of the adaptogens they included I had been thinking about taking, but hadn’t really found enough information to make me truly want to start taking the supplement. But when the results from my quiz came back, and they shared the scientific evidence as to WHY the particular supplements and vitamins could be good for you to take, I was on board. They have a team of researchers, doctors, and nutritionist so I felt really comfortable taking the recommendations from the quiz. You’ll see once you get your results, they really dive into each supplement they recommend for you providing you with various studies and research.
Ashwagandha. Because I mentioned that I was feeling a little burnt out. Ashwagandha has been clinically studied for over two decades on its effectiveness with supporting stress.
Rhodiola. Again, another stress-reliving agent. But also supports endurance and recovery after exercise.
Vitamin D. Because I live in Michigan (above 37 degrees latitude) it is hard to get enough vitamin D from the sun. I was taking vitamin D sporadically, but not every day. What I like about this Vitamin D is that it is fermented with probiotics and organic foods, making it easier for the body to absorb.
Astaxanthin. Since I deal with psoraisis flare-ups from time-to-time, I figured my skin health were a good thing to note as a part of my quiz. Astaxathin is a naturally-occurring carotenoid found in algae and seafood, studied for its ability to maintain healthy skin and possibly prevent normal signs of aging.
Vitamin C. Not a vitamin I would normally think I would need, but because Vitamin C is an immune booster and great antioxidant, I figured with my regular exercise routine and the stress it puts on the body it wouldn’t hurt to supplement. However, because I do tend to eat a good amount of veggies and fruit I probably would leave it out in my next pack.
And if you already know quite a bit about some of the supplements they offer, you can also build your own pack!
Quality Control and Transparency
Another great thing about Care/of? QUALITY. I try to be a conscious consumer, and when a brand makes it well known that quality is a top priority, it makes it so much easier to purchase from them. Care/of uses the highest quality ingredients , know the exact source of their ingredients, source sustainably and test multiple times to ensure the consumer is getting the absolute best ingredients in their vitamins and supplements. For someone who, at one time, felt the need to control every ingredient they put into their body, it made me more aware of what I was putting into my body. Not that I am obsessive about every little ingredient anymore, but when it comes to something you’ll be taking everyday, you can’t beat quality. I still appreciate a company who has great quality control AND is transparent about it. The less we have to guess as consumers the better, right?
I’m really excited to continue these supplements and hope to see an overall improvement in my health. Drew jokes that I am turning more and more into a hippie each day, but honestly I am all about those natural herbs (ashwagandha, rhodiola) for supplements – especially since Care/of does such an amazing job at providing the consumer with the research. If you can take a supplement like Ashwagandha or Rhodiola and not have to resort to being given antibiotics or medicine that is just treating the symptoms, then why the heck not try out something natural first?

this is so interesting! I just took the quiz myself to see what supplements I would get and it has been really interesting checking out all of the supplements and recommendations. I love that everything is backed up with research and explanations of WHY I should take each supplement, instead of just being told to take it.

I really loved the survey process. I loved the way it looked and also all the research you could read about each supplement. It was awesome. I just started mine so we will see how they go after the month!

I’m definitely more of a skeptic, but lately I’ve been taking some anti-microbials for my digestion. They seem to be helping; I’m praying! So I’m starting to become less skeptical. This vitamin company actually sounds like a really super cool idea.

Thanks for sharing! I never heard of this brand, but it’s awesome that they tell you WHY you should try something. So many people just take supplements without getting educated first. Heading to take the quiz now!
