About two weeks ago I started noticing the red lines on the bridge of my nose starting to fade. Something I never thought would happen… at least not naturally anyway. It’s one of those features on my face that I know is always there and dab gently with coverup each time I wear makeup, wondering if others notice it too. They probably don’t… but of course to me it is very noticeable.
When I was about 11 years old I was in school at my desk, playing with my snap bracelet, yes those cool trendy 90’s bracelets you could smack onto your wrist. I believe it was covered in denim fabric with silver metal ends. I was whipping it back and forth, and somehow in the process ended up flipping the bracelet backwards and smacking myself in the nose. Brilliant, Ashley. Of course my friends started laughing while I got red with embarrassment. Eventually my flushed face returned back to its normal skin tone, but I was left with broken capillaries on the bridge of my nose. I thought they would eventually go away, but 15 years later and they’re still there, no joke.
Up until recently… and I noticed them starting to fade. I honestly think it is because of the collagen supplements I’ve been taking almost daily.
Not only that, but I seriously think some of the wrinkles in my forehead and around my eyes are getting less noticeable. Especially the eyebrow furrow wrinkles. <- I blame my husband’s bad jokes for those. :-p
As we get older, wrinkles are bound to happen, I get that. And I am not one to obsess over them, they are a fact of life. But if taking collagen every day is helping my skin, I ain’t about to stop now! I feel like I am aging backwards, like Benjamin Button… okay that’s probably a little dramatic but seriously I can’t stop touching my forehead, it’s so smooth now.
Anways, I’ve been enjoying the marine collagen* in my coffee, or quite often in my yogurt. And the collagen whey* in my chocolate smoothies, but I like to change it up every once in a while, and that is where these Green Goddess Overnight Oats come in.
We’re using Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Greens, and the ingredients list is pretty straight-forward -as with all of Vital Proteins’ products.
- marine collagen
- organic wheat grass
- organic coconut water
- organic spinach
- organic alfalfa leaf
- organic kale
- organic barley grass
- Madagascar vanilla bean
- hyaluronic acid (joint supplement)
- bacillus coagulens (probiotics)
Now to some this blend may be a little too “green”, i.e. it’s not going to taste like fruit or chocolate.
But that is why I think enjoying this supplement in the form of overnight oats could work for you!

- Collagen Beauty Greens*
- chia seeds
- choice of milk
- vanilla extract
- maple syrup (or liquid sweetener of choice)

I’ve been using the plain collagen and liking it (mostly because it doesn’t have a taste!) I will give this a try 🙂 ps love your toppings 🙂

It’s crazy how you really can’t taste it! Easy to incorporate into so many different foods. I’ve been having fun playing around with them 🙂 These overnight oats are a good way to change it up though! –The toppings totally make it 😉

I have such a problem with the consistency of overnight oats, but they’re such a fabulous idea! I’m excited to break into my Beauty Greens and I’m so glad you are able to slowly get rid of such an awful reminder of the 90s hahaha.

Lol I feel ya on the overnight oats, which is why I prefer steel cut actually! Keeps the chewy texture. I don’t HATE the quick oats style, but just have come to prefer the steel cut 🙂
And yes, so glad to get rid of that stupid redness on my nose! Damn bracelets. Checking out your almond butter now! 😉
