We’re back again with another edition of Friday Link Lovin’ here on FMK. . It’s been a while (again) since I’ve done one of these. Between taking a couple days off over the new year and the awesome smoothie bowl roundup that happened last week, there are just not enough days! If you’re new around here, HEY what’s up? My Friday Link Lovin’ series is where I share different fitness, recipes, and other health & wellness links on my blog. And the occasional random YouTube video, my latest obsession, etc. It’s a good place to get to see some things floating around on the interweb that you may have missed, or possibly even be introduced to some new blogs! Either way, I hope you stick around and see what I’m sharing today. Let’s get to it >>
FITNESS LINK LOVIN’ ::
How to Cut Down on Cardio (but get the same results!) >> Beverley over at Sweaty and Fit shares some different workout ideas on how to decrease the amount of time you spend on cardio, but still reap the benefits. Beverley and I share the same mentality when it comes to cardio, i.e. less is more! If you can work smarter and harder in less time, you’re actually doing yourself a favor. Interval training and HIIT are where it’s at peeps!
Cardio Strength Interval HIIT Workout >> Lee from Fit Foodie Finds has a great looking interval + strength training workout. This is EXACTLY how I like to set up my workouts when I want a combo of both strength and cardio. Going back and forth between strength and cardio definitely helps pass the time and keep things interesting. Can’t wait to give this one a try.
RECIPE LINK LOVIN’
Dark Chocolate Almond Bark with Coconut & Ginger >> Hilary from Nutrition Nut on the Run has got a super simple, yet super freaking awesome looking chocolate bark recipe here. Anything dark chocolate I’m sold, let’s be real. But then adding coconut AND ginger chunks. I. Love. This.
Vegetarian Mexican Stuffed Peppers >> Alexa from Fooduzzi shared with the world wide web a lovely looking vegetarian Mexican meal here. What I love about Mexican dishes like this is that they are hearty, filling, and you don’t NEED the meat. Yeah, I like meat every now and again but you really don’t need that much of it in your diet. You should put this on your menu for Meatless Monday, ya? ?
Golden Raisin Wheat Berry Arugula Salad >> Georgie over at In It 4 The Long Run gave us an awesome looking salad this week. And it sounds SO GOOD. I love salads and the endless possibilities of toppings, mix-ins, and dressings. I haven’t tried wheat berries yet but they’ve been on my list!
RANDOM LINK LOVIN’
5 Healthy Morning Habits to Start Your Day on the Right Foot >> Last week Les shared some great healthy morning habits on her blog, The Balanced Berry. I REALLY need to start working on some of these. One thing in particular I need to make a priority is getting some water in my system BEFORE coffee. Her warm lemon water tip sounds like something I can get on board with. If I can make drinking ACV every day a habit, why not start another healthy habit with lemon water??
In case you missed it, I shared a delicious gluten-free blondie recipe over on Christina’s blog this week, so be sure to check it out. Hint: they have peanut butter…
And last but certainly not least… if you haven’t heard already… Alan Rickman passed away yesterday of cancer. AKA Severus Snape in the Harry Potter Series. I absolutely love HP, both the books and the movies, so I was heartbroken to hear this. When I saw the Buzzfeed list, 23 of The Best Professor Snape Moments in “Harry Potter”, I just had to share. I could cry. I pretty much did cry. You can bet I’ll be watching some HP movies this weekend in his honor. May you RIP Alan Rickman, you will be missed.
DO YOU LIKE LONG RUNS OR HIIT FOR CARDIO? ?
ARE YOU PLANNING ON BAKING THIS WEEKEND? ?
ARE YOU A HARRY POTTER FAN? ??
Happy Friday, have a lovely weekend everyone!

Brie @ Lean, Clean, & Brie says
I like long runs and HIIT for my cardio. Right now I am preferring HIIT because of the winter (brrr it’s cold!!), but once it warms up I will be all about those long runs 🙂
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine says
Less is more with cardio , less is more!!!! I only do one “long” cardio workout a week, otherwise it is all HIIT!
Beverley @ sweaty&fit says
yayyyy!! i feel so honored to be chosen. Thanks so much for sharing my post girl 🙂
I actually feel so bummed about Alan Rickman passing away. My mother is British so growing up her and I would watch a LOT of British TV shows/movies. He was in quite a few of them, and I always loved comparing his character to professor Snape. Definitely a sad week.
Ashley says
It was a great post! Loved it so much.
Still feeling the sadness of Alan Rickman. <3 I plan on putting HP on later this evening. XX
Jess @hellotofit says
I love Harry Potter and Alan Rickman, and was sad to hear the news. HIIT is amazing, but I use steady state cardio to catch up on Instagram …oops tehehe
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says

This is awesome! Thanks for sharing all these cool links! I definitely need to make stuffed peppers! I’ve been wanting to for a long time! SO good. Also, I seriously need to get into HIIT!
Ashley says
Stuffed peppers super good and too easy, you should definitely give them a try 🙂 HIIT is also a MUST. Thanks Cailee 🙂
Emilie @ Emilie Eats says
I prefer to just get it over with by doing HIIT! But I do equally love long walks around the lakes on campus. Granola bar testing continues this week!
Ashley says
long walks for sure, but as a sole form of cardio? Not for this gal 😉 YAY GRANOLA BARS. Can’t wait to see 😉
