GUYYSSS. The weekend is HERE!
Let’s get down to business…

5 Ab Exercises You Can Do Anywhere >> I love this list of exercises Heather from Life in Leggings put together! Getting in a short workout can make a difference. Even if it is eight minutes worth of activity, it is worth it. Sometimes in the morning if I know I am not going to make it to the gym after work, I’ll do a quick session of squats, lunges, knee repeaters, and some core work, and literally it is less than 10 minutes that I am doing this. Sometimes it is probably even five minutes. But what I love about the quick workouts is that it still gives me an energy boost, perfect for starting the day. These ab exercises from Heather are a great place to start. No excuses, DO WORK. (And I say that in the most encouraging, nicest way possible speaking through my screen.) 😉
[WOTM 10/2015] Lower Body Lumberjack Workout >> So I LOVE the Lean It Up website for quick, easy-to-follow, workouts. They are KILLER, and I can’t recommend them enough. They are actually what helped me get into a lifting routine, almost 2 years ago (and helped me start seeing some muscle I had never seen before). I JUST saw this workout today, but can’t wait to test it out myself. One of my favorite go-to circuits is actually this oldie (but GOODIE).

Pumpkin Protein Pancakes with Peanut Butter Pumpkin Syrup >> Amanda over at Diary of a Semi Health Nut is keeping the pumpkin game alive with these tasty guys. Holy moly I need that syrup in my life. AND, while you could have guessed I am all about homemade, from scratch goodies, I can totally get down with this Flapjack Protein Pancake Mix. Who doesn’t love the convenience factor of just being able to add some water to your pancakes, but still have them taste good and be made with real ingredients? OH, and protein. #girlswholift 😉 And I have to agree with Amanda, I would probably be having these for dinner at least once a week.
Scalloped Sweet Potatoes >> Taylor from Food Faith Fitness is vegan-izing, and paleo-fying up some scrumptious looking scalloped sweet potatoes! Not sure about you all, but I freaking love sweet potatoes. They are an insanely versatile food. I actually didn’t grow up eating them, so my love for them is rather new. At my Thanksgiving when I was younger, I would pass on the sweet potato casserole and get about 3 servings of my Nana’s mashed potatoes instead. My how things have changed. Because I am pretty sure I would load up my plate with mainly sweet potatoes and brussels now. Oh, and cornbread…
Lentil Loaf with Maple Sweetened Glaze >> How perfect does this recipe sound from Brittany of Eating Bird Food? Especially if you’re looking for vegan-friendly options to serve at Thanksgiving. I’ve never made a lentil loaf, but I certainly would love to try! This may have to make it to our Thanksgiving table this year…

I could not agree more with this list of things you should always make at home!! I think sometimes buying certain grocery items becomes such a habit, but more often than not it is 1. healthier and 2. more cost-effective to make at home. Check out Giselle’s list because it is #onfleek. (Yes, I just used that and I’m not even 100% sure it made sense there, but I am just going with it.)
Okay, so this one is really random… hence the heading I suppose. Anyways, I came across this song while doing some research at work, and I just LOVE the acoustic version by Hailee Steinfeld. #obsessed The first time I heard the song was actually when I came across this dance video to James Bay’s original version. (In case you’re wondering why I love music so much or am sharing this dance video, I grew up dancing at my mom’s studio, so I have a huge appreciation for dance and choreography. Lyrical/Contemporary was one of my favorites.)
And that is Link Lovin’ <3 in all it’s glory.
Have you started planning your Thanksgiving menu yet?! There are SO many ideas out there, I’m honestly not sure how I am going to choose! I feel like four Thanksgivings are in order just to be sure I can make everything I want.
What did you think of my latest song obsession?? I hadn’t even heard of Hailee Steinfeld until I watched Pitch Perfect 2 on the plane last month. Which was hilarious, BTW. But I also cried when they were sitting around the campfire because I was flying home from Seattle and missing my besties already. #old
Okay, that’s all!
Have a great weekend, lovely people.
