I’m BACCKKK. After a week + long hiatus. Sorry about that! I totally had at least one recipe post planned when I was gone last week, but it just didn’t quite work out. OH WELL, no worries.
Last week I was in Anaheim for work for a few days, then traveled up to the Seattle area for a couple days to visit my Pal who now lives there with her husband, and then our friend traveled from Michigan and met us as well! I had a super great time visiting my LTFs in the PNW. We really just hung out, drank some delish cider… my Pal made my Whole Wheat Oatmeal Berry Cookies for us and they were so gooodddd. I made Sally’s Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls and got impatient with the icing and (accidentally) drowned them. OOPS.
#treatyoself to the extreme.
But we did get plenty of walking in…
We saw some of Seattle and went to Pike’s Place.
And naturally got doughnuts at the Daily Dozen. (We like food, okay?)
Went on a great hike in the Olympic National Forest.
We saw a SLUG! (Sorry, Pal.)
We’re getting so olldddddd. Look at all dem wrinkles.
Do you like how we’re all representing something? (GO GREEN)
You can tell who the visitors were by shoe selection… P.S. The hiking socks were legit.
We totally didn’t mean to be in sync here… but we’re just that good.
And as you can see, it doesn’t ALWAYS rain in Seattle. 😉 The day turned out to be SO nice for us.
My bum still hurts from the steep walk down though. I feel like I am 80 years old.
Anywhos, I just got home today and thought I’d check out what was floating around the interweb this week. I found some great happenings, so let’s check em out…
FITNESS Link Lovin’ ::
4 Lessons Running Has Taught Me >> Christina from The Blissful Balance shared with us an analogy I can totally relate to. Even if you’re not a runner (like me) I’m sure you’ll be able to see what she means.
Lower Body Barre Plyo Fusion >> Chrissa from Physical Kitchness created a lower body barre and plyo workout that looks fantastic. I love love love plyometric movements, but I also love slowing it down with some lower impact, but booty-burning moves. These look like a killer combo. Plus, you can do this quick workout at home! And seriously, who doesn’t have 20 minutes? MAKE IT HAPPEN. (And I say that in my “I’m just really excited I’m not actually yelling at you” caps voice.)
RECIPE Link Lovin’ ::
Apple Pie Smoothie Bowl >> Lee from Fit Foodie Finds shared this seriously lovely looking creation. I went to the store last night and got applesauce and more bananas so I can make this and I am soooo excited about it. I have NOT had enough apples this season!
Pumpkin Spice Protein Puppy Chow >> Sam from Pancake Warriors is a GENIUS. What is funny about this recipe is that my younger sister literally asked me to make healthy puppy chow not too long ago. Well guess what Sista, Sam has gotcha covered.
#sorrynotsorry about more pumpkin. It’s not over. (“It still isn’t over”… I may or may not have just youtube’d that scene from The Notebook just now…)
RANDOM Link Lovin’ ::
The ladies of The Blogger Project are back with a couple more recent posts and I couldn’t be more excited! I love learning more blog stuff from these two gals (Lee and Davida). This post about content is super helpful as I start to plan some recipes for the holiday season. Get ready for loads of cookies. LOADS of them… 😉 Kidding, but kinda not really. We’ll see what happens these next several weekends… <evil laugh>
And I’m not sure if you saw this circulating on the interweb via The Washington Post, about cutting sugar from kids’ diets and the effects in just 10 days… but yeah. Halloween festivities are well under way. JUST SAYIN’. But actually, can we just remember that one time when Jimmy Kimmel first had parents play a prank on their kids? Let’s watch. “What the heck.” is right.
And that’s that! Friday Link Lovin’ <3
HAPPY HALLOWEEN. Even though I really don’t care for this little holiday at all, I hope everyone that does enjoy it has a great (and safe) time 😉
I’ll be getting my butt in the kitchen this weekend and making some (hopefully) awesome things. 😉
