I thought I’d take today to have a little “virtual coffee chat” if you will, and just ramble away about some life happenings. Grab your morning cuppa!
Let’s have a coffee chat
If we were having coffee
I’d tell you that I can’t believe it’s been almost three weeks since the move back to Michigan. With the transition of living at our parents (still) I’m struggling a little bit. Again, super thankful we have a place to stay, but MAN do I miss being in a routine, hanging out with Drew and being in my own kitchen. I am ridiculously unfocused and I have all of these thoughts, ideas, plans, etc. in my head. I just can’t seem to get a good handle on things right now!
If we were having coffee
I’d have to admit that I may or may not be watching a little too much Netflix and binge watching OnDemand… Somehow after not watching any of New Girl this season, I am now caught up. And I am back to watching the second season of How to Get Away with Murder. Ummm do you watch that?! So addicting… it’s impossible NOT to watch two in a row, I mean for real.
If we were having coffee
I’d tell you that I miss driving in PA. I miss the hills and the winding roads. I miss being on the highway and actually being able to see the town below the road. In mid-Michigan, it’s rather flat and straight. It doesn’t make for the prettiest of drives. And there are still tons of pot holes. To my PA peeps, you thought your roads were bad? Just come on over the the Mitten state and we’ll show you what you’re missing.
If we were having coffee
I’d probably yell (in excitement) that I finally went to Whole Foods (!!) but I feel like I couldn’t fully enjoy it. I was in the middle of running some errands, and I was just there to take a quick look around and grab lunch so I just wasn’t fully IN THE ZONE ya know? But don’t worry, I’ll be back… Actually, please worry. Someone please come supervise so I don’t spend all of my money.
If we were having coffee
I’d tell you that I’m seriously SOOO excited to attend the virtual Food Entrepreneur Summit put on by Nicole Culver! Seriously, if you’re a food blogger, food entrepreneur, or online business person you should highly consider buying tickets for this event! So many bloggers and businesses I look up to are speakers and holding master classes. Fit Foodie Finds, The Healthy Maven, Cotter Crunch, Hummusapien, and Eating Bird Food just to name a few! 22 speakers and 20 classes with access to theses classes FOR-EV-ER, I can’t wait. Classes start May 31 and run through June 8, but tickets are on sale now. If you purchase before May 16, you can get special early bird pricing at 40% the standard ticket price! You seriously won’t want to miss it. If you have any questions I highly recommend checking out this page.
If we were having coffee
I’d say that as hard as it is for me to not have a good routine at the moment, I’m also trying to remind myself to enjoy the time I have with family. I’ve been training my little brother a bit (he plays soccer) as well as getting my little sister to do some workouts with me too. I also taught her how to make scones yesterday! 😀
what would you tell me if we were having coffee?
Linking up with Amanda this Thursday for Thinking Out Loud.

If we were having coffee I’d tell you that I’d seriously love to have one of those scones with my coffee, and that I’d need you to teach me how to make them too because I’ve never made scones before. I’d also tell you that I can relate to flat boring drives. I live in the prairies and yeah… it’s not always that pretty.
Ashley says
Ah SCONES oh em gee I need to have a virtual scone baking lesson it sounds like! So many scone newbs 😀
Emily says
I can’t get over how good your scones are, and I’m hoping to make them again soon! I’m really excited about the Food Entrepeneur summit too, as I’ve learned so much from so many of those gals in Nicole’s podcast. I hope that there are many further Whole Foods trips. Have you ever thought about doing a post on what you buy at Whole Foods? I would love to see one, if that would be fun for you to do!
Ashley says
Aw that means SO much Emily, I am so glad you love them as much as I do 🙂 I will definitely have to look into a Whole Foods post once I get the hang of shopping there, and also once “shiny object syndrome” passes lol.

I’d tell you that my senior prom is on SATURDAY and I have been seriously cray cray searching for good hairstyle and makeup ideas XD but I’m so excited! I hope that you soon come back to Whole Foods because it’s amazing there–and the hot foods bar is DANGEROUS.
Ashley says
Awww senior prom!! Gosh you’re making me feel a little old, but I hope you found what you were looking for! I’m sure you’ll look stunning! Have fun and stay safe (ha now I REALLY sound old! :-p )
Sarah says
I would love to cook with you! Your sister is lucky 🙂 Enjoy your time with your family girl, and I hope the moving process is as smooth as possible.
Ashley says
Aw thanks Sarah, that means a ton!

Sooo happy you made it over to Whole Foods! When I went it was the first day it opened so I didn’t feel like I could fully enjoy it either because there were people everywhere. I need to make a trip back over. And I am all signed up for the Food Entrepreneur Summit too — can’t wait!
Ashley says
I will DEFINITELY be back to WF. And YES, so pumped about the summit. It should be perfect timing for me to really get focused because we should be moved into our place by then!

First off, I’m a fellow New Girl and Nick Miller addict, so i do not blame you one bit for binging on Netflix. We all have those days (this is pretty much a daily thing for me). I live in Ohio, and I can totally relate to the boring drives. The cornfields on the sides of the road just aren’t the ideal scenery. 😉 I hope you have a good weekend1
Ashley says
Lol I just freakin’ love New Girl! It never fails me. Just finished the season yesterday 😉 Hope you have a lovely weekend too Maddie!

Whole Foods! <3 I know the frustration of not being in control of your own kitchen – especially when you're used to having it to yourself! Hang in there! 🙂
If we were having coffee, I would probably rave about the weather in Seattle. It's so nice to see the sun now!
Ashley says
I’ve been noticing your sunny snaps! That is awesome. It’s amazing what warm sunny weather does for the mood 🙂

If we were having coffee we would go to Whole Foods afterwards. And, I’d tell you I only have 2 more yoga teacher training weekends and then a final retreat in July. Boom! I’d also tell you our weekend is overloaded. I have YTT F-Sun, Chad is running an ultra and my daughter is doing Relay for Life. All good stuff!
Happy Friday Ashley.
Ashley says
Ah that is amazing Jill! Congrats on your training 🙂 And I love Relay for Life, good for your daughter. Busy fam!!
Aya Tsintziras says
Yes! How To Get Away With Murder is so crazy amazing (and just pretty crazy haha).
Ashley says
lol right?! I can’t stop.
