This quick workout can be done anywhere and at anytime! You could even do this 8 Minute Body Weight Workout in the kitchen while cookies are in the oven…
You think I’m joking… but that is actually exactly how this workout came about.
I was planning my weekend trip to see Drew and I couldn’t NOT make him cookies. But I was also feeling rather overwhelmed with the bagillion other things I wanted to accomplish that night. i.e. Laundry, vacuuming, making dinner, catching up on blog stuff, a workout! Exercising is one of my favorite ways to relieve stress, yet even thinking about exercise at that moment was stressing me out.
But then I thought of something… If I could do a super quick workout while some cookies are in the oven, maybe I’d feel better and get that jolt of energy and relieve some stress at the same time.
This probably sounds 100% ridiculous… Even I think I sound a bit ridiculous… Maybe this is a bad idea ? I can just hear your thoughts… “Yeah if you think I’m working out while I’ve got cookies in the oven you’re batshitcray.”
Buttttt just humor me okay?!
I mean OBVIOUSLY you don’t have to do this workout while cookies are in the oven… but I’m not gonna lie, I kind of chuckled to myself after I was done, and then wanted to call this
“THE COOKIE WORKOUT”
But I figure 8 Minute Body Weight Workout was a little more fitting… I mean honestly, the things I do when I’m by myself.
I did this workout just like I described up above. I had cookies in the oven and the timer was set for eight minutes (if you still think I’m joking, clearly I am not). I thought of different exercises I could do with no weight, then to make it easy on my mind just stuck with eight repetitions for each movement. When I got down to the plank shoulder taps and I had another minute left until I was halfway through (4 minutes), that’s when I added the “fire hydrant” moves. And then I had perfect timing! HOLLA. I didn’t take any breaks longer than 5-10 seconds between exercises, and also pushed myslef to work as hard and semi-fast (and as safe) as I could for those eight minutes. And yes, I did this all in my kitchen…
If you’re not making cookies (I mean are any of you going to do this workout while making cookies…?), just set your timer and work for as many rounds as possible (AMRAP).
You could also tell yourself you’re going to do 4 rounds with little rest, add about five minutes of core work at the end and have a solid 20 minute workout!
EASY. Okay, now go bake some cookies and do this workout 😉 AND OH EM GEE please let me know if you make cookies AND do this workout. I WOULD LOVE IT. 😀

This is something I would do too! One time I did a quick workout before I went our to a party….hahaha. Also, I ALWAYS make my boyfriend baked goods no matter what. Or anyone else. For any reason. At all. Am I weird yet?! Haha thank you for sharing! I’ll definitely be doing this the next time I bake! Which will most likely be today….

Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious says
I don’t know if I could workout while baking because either I’d be licking the batter or not want to stop working out! haha…
Ashley says
lol it was a challenge, but I was determined to make it work! Maybe I’ll get weighted spoons for this workout too. Add a spoonful of batter in between rounds, get some more arm action in there 😉
Jess @hellotofit says
Haha this would be the most motivated workout, esp since I’d be doin’ it for the cookie!
